About Soof Studio

Soof Studio is a textile art practice founded by Shamma Almarzooqi. Her work explores material, cultural memory, and identity through handwork and textile processes, translating inspiration into threads, textures, and hand-worked surfaces.

Approaching making as a reflective process, Almarzooqi’s practice centers on material presence, repetition, and the quiet labor of handwork. Her work engages with personal and collective narratives, drawing from lived experience and the evolving cultural landscape of the UAE.

While Soof Studio operates primarily as an artistic practice, it also includes a small shop offering limited, hand-made pieces. These works function as extensions of the studio’s material research rather than a commercial focus.
